Scarf knitting!

Hello again!
Who out there isn’t excited when it comes to elegant knitted scarves? In this post we will talk about scarf knitting. We have to admit that a nice , colored or even simple scarf, makes all the difference when it comes to dressing up, and  taking your accessories to the next level.
Different colors and patterns, form simple to complicated for the more advanced of knitters, make for some really fun projects!
So, for the pattern now. I chose “The Sparkling Scarf”. When finished, the sparkles look irresistible, and the pattern is very easy to knit.
We will use the following techniques:
  • -binding off
  • -casting on
  • -garter stitch
  • -knit stitch
  • -weaving in yarn balls
As for material, we need  some medium weight mohair blend yarn with glitzy thread. The scarf should be about 150 cm long and 20 cm wide.
Next, you should cast on 20 stitches, leaving a tail of approximately 10 cm length. Now we will knit every row( or work in garter stitches) until the scarf will measure around 130 cm long, or keep knitting until enough yarn material remains to bind off all the stitches and secure the tail, about four times the scarf’s width, plus 15 cm.
You should keep in mind that we need to bind off all the stitches loosely, thus matching the elasticity of the cast-on edge. Now you should cut the yarn , leaving around 6 cm of tail, and thread the tapestry needle, weaving trough the bound off stitches to secure them. Next, weave in the yarn tail , in the same fashion as the stitches.
That should be enough. Hope you will enjoy making it, as well as wearing it! I know it can sound a little tricky for the newbies but the final result will give you maximum satisfaction.
See you all next time!
